Verdling Dulce 2011 confirms the ability of the Nieva region Verdejo to achieve wines full of balance, identity and singularity. In this case, especially interesting as it is a sweet wine: its harmony between sweetness and acidity continues to amaze with each vintage. The sweet expression of verdejo

Climatic year

We had a very cold winter,with heavy rain and sorne snovvy days. In March the ternperatures climb began, reaching 20 degrees in April that determined vineyards sprouting. Fortunately there were no significant frosts and development was homogeneous. May was unstable andJune very warm so that the plants reached flowering a little early. In surnrner the weather was very dry, with a cooler july than August. From 1 September a wave of heat was set, forcing us to an early harvest, but with excellent sanltary quallty of the grapes.

Grapes

100% verdejo, pre-phylloxera ald vines, ungrafted. Grapes from a plot wlth gravel and sand, very fresh.

Winemaking process

Manual harvested In boxes of 1s kg. Early harvested, essential far maintaining a good natural acidity of the grapes Rigorous inspection on selectlon table. Destemmlng and pressing in horizontal hydraullc press. Long fermentation at low temperature with the native yeasts of musts submitted to severe racklngand therefore low turbldlty. Bottled In March 2012.
